Abhayam is a geriatric initiative of Bhuvana Dharmam Trust, founded by Dr J S Bhuvaneswaran, a cardiologist and hospital administrator based in Coimbatore. Abhayam embraces 'Service' instead of a 'Business Plan'. It was built on three decades of watching, up close, what happens when elderly patients don't have someone by their side in a hospital.

S. Hariharan brings 44 years of experience in the pharma industry, with extensive coverage across India and several other countries as Head of Marketing Operations. Over the course of his career, he built close, trusted relationships with many doctors and was instrumental in ensuring facilities delivered both quality medicines and quality service to patients. He views his association with Abhayam as a continuation of this lifelong commitment to patient care.
Harini Balasubramanian hails originally from Coimbatore and now lives in the greater Seattle area with her husband and two young sons. As an only child with elderly parents still in Coimbatore, she carries a deep personal passion for the dignity, care, and well-being of elders in the community. Professionally, she serves as Director of Design and Engineering for AI Networking at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, where she leads teams building large-scale cloud networking systems.
Karthi Purushothaman is an investor and entrepreneur working to bridge discontinuities in the healthcare and finance sectors. Through his AI venture, 1hat.ai, he works with leading healthcare providers to transform digital healthcare, while also growing the reach and impact of his family's healthcare services business across India. Until recently, he was a Partner at McKinsey & Company for over 12 years across New York, Singapore, and India, advising CEOs, regulators, and executives on growth, strategy, operations, and artificial intelligence. He began his career at Microsoft and Oracle, and holds an MBA from Duke University and a dual degree from BITS Pilani, an MSc in Biology and a BE in Computer Science.
Nagaraj Iyer is a seasoned IT professional with over 30 years of industry expertise, holding an MCA along with certifications including PMP, ITIL, and Six Sigma Green Belt. His career spans the Ministry of Communications, Electronic Data Systems, and Hewlett Packard, including a stint in the United States supporting global operations for the Transportation Vertical. Returning to India in 2013 as Head of Delivery & Sales for Orion India System Pvt Ltd, he later founded his own organisation, Divasprik, in 2018. With over 30 years of teaching experience, he now runs Divasprik Academy, offering training in Generative AI, Cyber Security, and Digital Marketing.
Poorna Bhuvaneswaran, wife of Dr. J.S. Bhuvaneswaran, serves as a Trustee of the Bhuvana Dharmam Trust. Through both the Trust and Abhayam, she looks forward to contributing to society and humanity in whatever way possible, however small that contribution may be. Poornima Kumar is a Counselling Psychologist and Classical Dance Instructor, driven by a passion for nurturing mental well-being alongside artistic expression. She specializes in offering compassionate, non-judgmental counselling to cancer patients and palliative care patients and their families, helping them navigate emotional distress and build resilience in difficult times. Rtn. M. Suresh Kumar is an entrepreneur with 23 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and a strong passion for building sustainable business. In 2013, he took the entrepreneurial leap to build a B2B distribution business centred on energy and sustainable growth, with his journey shaped by a commitment to creating value while contributing to a better future, aligned with five UN Sustainable Development Goals. The pandemic gave him the opportunity to serve beyond business, taking on roles as Rotary War Room Coordinator and Chairman for COVID Protocols. These experiences have shaped his belief that true success is measured not only by what we build, but by the difference we make along the way.

Shanthi Sivabalan is an accomplished Corporate Trainer and IT Consultant with over 25 years of experience at IBM, holding a B.Com and an M.S. in Information Technology, and has consistently harmonized business insight with technological expertise throughout her career. For 15 years in Jakarta, Indonesia, she served as Head of IT and Consultant at GMIS, leading digital transformation initiatives and mentoring diverse teams, before returning to India three years ago with rich cross-cultural experience and a legacy of innovation in education and corporate training. Devoted to social welfare as a lifelong passion, she now channels her skills and wisdom toward uplifting communities and fostering inclusivity.
Srimathi Veeramani, B.Com., CA, PGDFM, PGDMM, has spent over 12 years creating and publishing the Voice of Jagadguru e-magazine in multiple Indian languages, dedicated to sharing spiritual and cultural knowledge. She is also a novelist and writer, with her novels featured on leading digital platforms and her books reaching diverse audiences through social media. Alongside her literary work, she conducts classes on slokas, scriptures, and ethical values, and offers family counselling and guidance to help individuals and families lead more harmonious lives.

Abhayam exists so that no senior citizen faces a healthcare crisis alone. We're building a structured, dependable support system: medical guidance, coordination, handholding, and emotional support, from the first healthcare need through recovery, assisted care, palliative care, and, when necessary, end-of-life support.
